Looking Back At It All.
Opening season
/ˈō-p(ə-)niNG ˈsē-zᵊn/ noun
a time when old patterns come face to face with new awareness and you get to choose which one leads
This year, my opening season feels different (thank God).
Not because everything is flowing perfectly. Not because I’ve mastered anything. But because I used the awareness I’ve been building over the last couple of years and made a decision to do this year differently. On purpose.
My guiding thought for 2025 is,You already have what you need.
So I’ve moved through the year in experiment mode, applying that thought to everything. Noticing my energy. Paying attention to what derails me. Journaling. Actually answering the questions I post in my stories, pen to paper. Making quiet adjustments that seem small but shift everything. Nothing flashy. Just aligned.
This time around, it felt like I was truly stepping into the season I’ve been waiting for, a season where everything clicked into place, and the work I’d been building toward finally aligned.
But it wasn’t always like this. In previous years, I’ve hustled through to March feeling chaotic, tired, behind, and unsure of what I even wanted. I kept doing the things, but I wasn’t really listening to myself. I kept asking the same comfortable questions, allowing myself to stay stuck in old patterns. It’s wild, especially since I created the Wision Board method. Knowing what I know now, this is the question I wish I’d asked myself at the end of the opening season or better yet, on the first day of my newly named next season (taking the field, or whatever you want to call yours.I highly recommend you name it):
What do I already know now that I didn’t know in January?
I think it would’ve helped me realize I had been avoiding asking this type of question, staying surface-level, even as a coach. I’d convince myself I was doing the work, but it felt more like performance. The kind of reflection that looks good on paper but doesn’t shift anything underneath. I didn’t stop to challenge the patterns that were running on autopilot.
I didn’t stop to challenge the patterns that were running on autopilot.
But now, I see that taking the field is what it’s all about. It’s about showing up fully, in action, and with intention. Not letting old habits control me or keep me playing small. There’s no "perfect" way to show up, but there is a way that feels true. And that’s where things really shift.
This season, I've realized that progress isn't about rushing through or checking boxes. It’s about paying attention. It’s about asking better questions, even the ones that feel uncomfortable. It’s about listening deeply to what’s already there and honoring the version of you that's been waiting for you to finally see it.
You don’t need to have all the answers. But you do need to ask the right questions.
Start with the Parts of You
Maybe you’re feeling like you’re stuck in the same loop, too. The season you’ve just lived through may not have been perfect, but it was a season. Even if you didn’t do everything, even if it wasn’t tidy, you learned something. You grew.
Start by naming your parts. Each one of those parts plays a role in the process:
The one who wants more
The one who avoids
The one who’s tired
The one who’s showing up
The one who’s proud
The one who still believes
Ask each one~ What do you know now that you didn’t know in January?
Don’t filter it. Don’t polish it. Just listen.
You Don’t Need a New Plan, You Need Clarity
You don’t need a new plan. You don’t need to start over. What you need is honesty. Clarity. And maybe you need to hear this ~ even the tools that work need fresh eyes.
If you’ve made a Wision Board, pull it out. See what fits. See what shifted. Update it if you need to.If you haven’t, this might be your season. The next stretch is coming, whether you’re ready or not. So……………

If you’re still reading, I already know you’re someone who wants to feel different and live like it.
You don’t have to do it perfectly. You just have to stay in it. Keep noticing. Keep asking different questions. Keep choosing the version of you that feels most like home.
Thanks for letting this land.
I see you. Until next time
